Elijah Meeks from Netflix will show us Semiotic, an expressive new data visualization framework built on D3.

Semiotic uses a layer model for data visualization, separating interaction and annotation elements from the data-encoding graphical elements.
This layered model allows developers to focus on creating each piece of an effective chart with the best mental model for that piece.

Gone are the days of using a single mental model for interaction elements, labels and other related (but still!) distinct components.
