Bay State Commons is a growing cohousing community planning to build 30 residential condominiums outside Malden Square, just three blocks from the Orange Line. We are individuals, couples, and families with such shared values as mutual respect, social bonds, and environmental responsibility. Our development is being designed to encourage social interaction and will balance private space in individual units with common facilities, such as a dining area for weekly group meals, children's play area, laundry, and workshop. We have twice-monthly business meetings, as well as social gatherings and committee meetings. Join us and see if cohousing is right for you!
After a year in zoning/permitting limbo, the membership of Bay State Commons is finally about to clear the hurdles for groundbreaking on our 30-unit cohousing complex outside Malden Center. Come learn about us at one of our twice-monthly business meetings. Most of our units are spoken for, but we are still looking for prospective members for the rest. We discuss relevant issues, decide on proposals via consensus and, in between, socialize. Prospective members are urged to arrive at 6:30, when they can ask questions before the meeting gets underway. At the Common House of Cornerstone Village Cohousing in North Cambridge. This is an ~18-minute walk from the Porter Square station, and can be accessed by the 77 bus. Those driving can park on Harvey Street, next to Cornerstone, without issue/risk of being ticketed. For those with kids, group babysitting is available during the meeting--please send a message and we will provide the details.
