What we're about
WHO WE ARE: We are a group of fiction writers who meet for fellowship and to critique each other's work. We share a lot of laughs, but we also take our craft seriously, constantly striving for improvement and aspiring toward publication-worthy material. Thus, our group is not for the thin-skinned or self-proclaimed masters of prose. Our feedback may encompass grammar, plot, character development, writing style, and word choice. We read all fiction genres (i.e., no nonfiction, poetry, or memoir).
WHAT WE DO: Each Bay Street Writer may submit a few pages of prose to be read and pondered by the other writers until the next group meeting. Meetings are spent giving each writer 5-10 minutes of verbal feedback on the work submitted at the previous meeting. Additional may be written on the submission and returned to the writer. We do not do read-aloud sessions.
WHEN and WHERE: We meet bimonthly in Fremont.
