Conquer the summit of the tallest peak in the East Bay, Mt. Diablo, 3849 ft. They say that from the top, the horizon represents the curvature of the earth! You can also stop at the "saddle" ranger station without going all the way up.
This is an out and back route, so you can bail out at any point Many cyclists do return after reaching the ranger station since the last 4.5 miles to the summit are quite steep. After the descent, we can finish at BART or take an optional extension down the popular Iron Horse Trail to Alamo or Danville to a cafe.
Details: 33 mile or 48 mile options with 4000 feet elevation gain.
Bring: Water, lytes, food, helmet, tube, strong legs.
