The group's objective is for sports minded individuals to get together, play and also help beginners with learning and enjoying sports. Start with Tennis, Golf, Volleyball, Walking, Jogging and Fitness and expand to other activities like kayaking, hiking, and trail-running. The events for this Meetup are mainly from a primary group called Bayou City Outdoors. Get Active! Get Social! Get Outside!
A Fun Way to Meet New People!
We host a wide variety of events every week for our members, and all are designed so that everyone feels welcome. Our utilization of the latest Internet-based technology allows the busy professional to easily acquire and respond to all event information online. With an average of 3 events each day, there is always something to do. We're your source for recreation and entertainment in Houston!
Every Day is an Adventure!
Our outdoor activities include hiking, SCUBA diving, canoeing & kayaking, camping, skydiving, rock climbing, mountain biking, backpacking, and Adventure Racing. BCO regularly participates in team sports such as volleyball & softball, and much, much more - we even have our own MS150 team. We also engage in social activities like parties, happy hours, dinners, museum tours, charity events and concerts. With BCO, every day is an adventure!
Monthly Club Meet & Greets and Public Hikes are free and open to all interested individuals.

Donât worry if youâve never picked up a paddle â this is all about having fun and meeting awesome people!
This place is great! Thereâs a lot of space, indoor area, covered patio where the ping pong tables are, and plenty of games! Everyone who went last time said the food was really good, too!

The ping pong tables are located at the back left side of the patio area, under the covered area.

NettBar in Shady Acres is dog-friendly and welcomes well-behaved dogs on leashes on their patios. They also have a fenced-in area for dogs to play off-leash.

This event is all about good vibes, new friends, and planning your next big adventure. Sure, thereâs volleyball, but weâre not about intense rallies all night long. Instead, we focus on connecting, laughing, and sharing stories of past and future adventures.
Every month, we draw a crowd of 30 to 80 fun-loving folks who are just as excited as you are to get outside and play. Weâve got our event posted on all the internet calendars, so if you want to see whoâs in, just check out the RSVP list at the bottom.
Not in the mood for volleyball? No problem!
Many people come just to chill on the large patio, where you can join a friendly game of cornhole or ping pong. With a full kitchen and bar boasting 30+ taps, thereâs something for everyone.What to Expect:
Parking: Crowbar offers free dedicated parking, but if that fills up, thereâs a paid lot nearby or free street parking. Give yourself 5-10 minutes to find a spot.
Finding the Group: Look for the HTXoutdoors and Bayou City Outdoors signs on the tables. We usually hang out on Courts 1 and 2, which are side by side.
About the Group: This event is a welcoming space for everyone, especially first-timers. You wonât be crashing a tight-knit crew; instead, youâll find people who are eager to meet others with shared interests. Itâs all about quick connections and discovering common ground.

Spooky shadows, crisp fall air, and trails that come alive under moonlightâŚ
Join us for a nighttime adventure where the only thing scarier than the rustling leaves might be how much fun youâll have! Whether you show up dressed as a woodland creature, a glow-in-the-dark skeleton, or just yourselfâthis is your chance to hike under the stars with a fun-loving crew. Weâll cover a few miles through the forest by headlamp as the moon lights our path and the night
đ§ââď¸ About the Hike
Expect an easygoing pace with time to enjoy the night sights (and maybe a few spooky sounds). Costumes are optional but highly encouragedâjust make sure you can walk in them!
- Distance: ~3-4 miles
- Pace: ~22-25 minutes per mile
- Trail Features: Mostly flat with light elevation, forested paths
- Hike Type: Out-and-back or loop depending on group preference and conditions
đ¸ď¸ This Event is For:
- Adults onlyâno dogs, no kids, just grown-up ghoul time
- All fitness levels welcome
- Members and 1 guest per member (if applicable)
đ§ What to Bring:
- Headlamp or flashlight (redlight is preferred please)
- Water to stay hydrated
- Bug sprayâmosquitoes love the night too
- Comfortable shoes you can hike in
- Costume or just wear outdoor-friendly clothes

Fees:
The Hike is free to attend, there is a State Park Entrance fee â $7 per day per person unless you have a state park pass.
