BeNkd for Men does exactly what it says on the tin! Its the opportunity for men to get together, explore what it is to be a liberated man, take part in activities including movement, fitness, yoga and life coaching sessions to build confidence and be naked!
Every man is welcome regardless of sexuality, fitness level, body size/shape or age. Its an opportunity to celebrate being you and breaking through society’s body image and stereotype barriers. Its for the competitive sportsmen, the guy just starting out training, the guy uncomfortable with his body, men struggling or the man that is scared of being naked with other men.
BeNkd sessions are about boosting self confidence and self worth, developing your own fitness levels, improving your all round health and enjoying yourself. Work outs and meetings are in a safe non judgemental environment where you can feel comfortable in your own skin! Gone are the days of being chosen last for the football team!
2019 will also see the introduction of BeNkd days and retreats.
BeNkd for Men is a liberating, empowering way to improve your self confidence, be in the company of like minded men, move your naked body and share your thoughts and feelings in a comfortable and safe environment.
Why naked? Body dissatisfaction is an increasing problem and, from early on in our lives, men are bombarded with messages about the perfect body and masculinity. These, together with our experiences at school and through life, can lead to feelings of shame, not being good enough, feeling we don’t fit it and even disliking ourselves.
Recent research (https://www.gold.ac.uk/news/naked-and-unashamed/) by Dr Keon West of Goldsmiths College, University of London shows that people who spend time naked like their own bodies more, think better of themselves, and are more satisfied with their lives overall. The best way to discover that there is no such thing as the perfect body is to be naked as much as possible!
When you are naked and share the experience with other naked men, you begin to accept your body and yourself as you are. You feel improvements in your body image and self esteem, face your own negative patterns of self talk about yourself and get to feel the joy of being uninhibited and moving freely. You also see how your body works!
Along with our fitness, yoga and coaching sessions our aim is to build a community of like minded men with other BeNkd for Men events and activities.
