Beantown Bridge Pages

Hi everyone, and welcome to Beantown Bridge. This group is for people who enjoy the card game bridge, and want to come together to play and learn together. If you are interested in what to expect from this group, read on!

We have members of all skill levels in Beantown Bridge: new players, returning players, and a few lifetime players. If you haven't played before, visit our page of suggested resources to learn the basics and then sign up for one of our events that are “beginner friendly”. Read the event description to determine if a certain event is right for you or if you are unsure, reach out to the event organizer or group organizer to find the right event for you.

WE ARE NOT... a professional bridge club. If you are looking for formal, competitive play you will probably not get a lot out of this group, although you may be able to network and find other players (you can find a list of clubs in your area here.)

WE ARE NOT... here solely to set up private events in homes or other limited venues. Our goal is to provide meetups in public areas with many people, so that we can have some fun and learn from one another. However, you are free to use our bulletin boards to announce your interest in finding a private group.

WE ARE NOT... a substitute for proper bridge lessons by a qualified instructor. While you will learn quite a lot from coming to our meetups (and attending our Social & Beginner Night lessons), they cannot beat learning from an experienced trainer. There are a number of bridge resources online and schools in the area which are run by great teachers and are worth the money.

WE ARE... a fun group of people focused on learning and improving our bridge skills, from beginner to expert. An ability to tolerate players of other experience levels is a must for attending our events, as we are all learning the game.

WE ARE... open to gathering at locations all over Greater Boston. Right now, we only have locations in Boston and Waltham, but as we grow we intend to play in other locations. If you are interested in organizing an event, please read the Event organizer guidelines and contact me!

WE ARE... depending on your attendance. Bridge is a game that requires partners, so when you sign up to an event we expect that you will attend it. If you sign up to an event but cannot make it, please update your RSVP so that we have an accurate headcount. People who sign up but don't come may be removed from our group.
