Rio Soul Samba Workshop with the World famous Samba Queen Ana Aruda. Rio Soul Samba presents Ana Arruda's One day Learn to Samba Dance Workshop:

What? A fun filled 3 hour samba workshop fun for the absolute beginner! Learn the dance of Rio and of the annual festival Brazilian Carnaval! This workshop will introduce you to samba, the national dance of Brazil. Learn simple combinations and develop form, style, and coordination. Ideal for first-time students who want to learn this fun and festive style. Those who want to refresh their basic skills are welcome. This workshops will take you on a musical and cultural voyage south of the equator. Absolutely no experience necessary; just the ability to let loose and go wild!

This is an unique and exciting opportunity to learn the traditional Brazilian samba and dance rhythms from all parts of Brazil with professional samba dancer & instructor Ana Arruda. Ana is taking time from her busy schedule and flying into Ireland just for this workshop. Ana has more than 10 years of experience in "samba no pé" (samba freestyle) and classes of Brazilian dance classes in Brazil and abroad. Ana Arruda specialises in preparing students for samba competitions, performances and teacher training.

Ana arruda Bio:

Ana Arruda has 16 years samba tarining experinece. She was trained at the samba academy Jimmy de Oliveira. After study 9 years Samba de Gafieira, Ana developed a methodology for "samba no pé with footwork of Gafieria" and her style of dance became popularised. Today she travels the world as a teacher and judge of the main international samba congresses.

Ana took advantage of her student visits to Rio de Janeiro during the Carnival period and received about 100 to 150 students from around the world with the aim of improving technique, methodology and developing new movements of samba.

How to get to the studio?

Catch the red line luas (tram) from the city centre and travel to 'The Point' Luas stop. Walk 300 metres (4 minutes) to the studio.
