Why do you want to become a farmer?

Because it's what I feel I should be doing. I look at the way our society works and see incredible inefficiency, and I want to fix that if only in small part. I want to connect input/output streams in the community, and put to use all the unused or underused land and labor.

Have you done any farming before? even in your backyard

Unfortunately, only backyard farming. I've planned/installed and managed dozens of gardens for family and friends all over the westerm states, but I've never really had the room to truly integrate all the possibilities that a larger plot of land provides.

What type of farming are you interested in? (vegetable, fruit, poultry, dairy e.t.c)

Simply put, EVERYTHING. Veggies, fruit, grains, milk, meat, eggs, honey, mushrooms, everything. The more strands you add, the larger and more resilient the web becomes. And with the biggest, strongest web, you get the most food.

What do you hope to get from this group?

A chance to connect with like-minded people and gain/share knowledge. There's always more to learn. And since there doesn't seem to be a field to put it, I'll throw this in here. I have a facebook profile only because not everyone has migrated to Google+ yet. If you want to get a hold of me, Google+ is the way to do it.

Just moved back to Denver in July after several years away. My wife and I moved here not only for the awesome people and city, but also so that I could finally set to work on my dream of owning/starting an edible landscaping/design company.
