The SPACEMAP: applying motivation to BDD
BDD is a great way to create alignment between developers and the business. It helps us understand how our work can have an impact for the customer. It also gives us more autonomy to come up with the best possible solutions, instead of just implementing pixel-perfect designs.
These are motivational factors that help us become more self-determined in our work, and they stimulate our creativity. But how do they work and can we improve the way that we use them?

During this meetup, Fin Kingma will use the ‘space-map’ to explain which motivational factors are important in our work, in BDD and how we can leverage them to our advantage.

Through a mix of theoretical models and practical exercises you will learn to understand and leverage motivation. At the end of the workshop we will form groups and use motivational work factors to improve the way we do BDD.

About Fin Kingma

I’m Fin Kingma. An Agile Test Coach with a strong fascination for the soft side of IT. Tools and techniques are great and can help you deliver reliable quality, but I think the real quality is part of the people who work on the product.

When I'm not testing applications, people, or organizations, I love to get my hands dirty and build things. I live in an apartment on the 3rd floor, but last year I built a self-regulating garden on the 2x3 meters in front of my apartment.
Occasionally I also get a sudden urge to run and explore my neighborhood. An 'adventure map' is now hanging on my wall, on which I mark (and draw) all the beautiful areas I have visited while jogging. I built up a lot of energy with these exercises, which I can use in my everyday life.
