Belfast Elixir @ Instil 6:30pm to 8pm 18/06/2019

Interested in the Advanced features of Elixir and the Erlang Platform? As this is the second meet-up of the month we set aside time to cover more advanced concepts. This is done alongside our mob programming project. The first meetup each month we focus more on the basics.

We will be continuing to Mob program (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mob_programming) on the Dead Man Switch for Service availability project (https://github.com/belfastelixir/dms).

Our goal is to develop this to a high standard, ship a service based on it and publish the package to https://hex.pm, before moving onto our next group project.

How it works on the night: We pull an issue or feature from the backlog, spend some time discussing the design and then implement the solution together, simple as that.

We also encourage pull requests and collaboration during the 2 weeks between the meet-ups so that the learning discussion and progress can continue outside of the fortnightly 90 minute sessions.

We have found this to be a fun way to learn elixir but also a nice way to gain experience with collaborative programming and open source.

No prior elixir knowledge needed, just software development experience, the more the merrier!
