The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is poised to transform how we keep people safe and healthy. At this Meetup we'll be looking at the issue of social isolation. Both social isolation and loneliness are starting to receive increased attention from local authorities, health and social care providers and third-sector organisations due to growing evidence around the negative impacts they have on health and wellbeing
Intro from Johnny Wallace (Prof of Innovation @UlsterUni Faculty of Computing & Engineering, Chair of @IETNI Policy Group Connected Health): Connected Health is Dead - Long Live Connected Wellbeing!!!
Victoria Simms, Research Director for Psychology at Ulster University (and member of the NI Science Festival board) will present research the team at UU has been carrying out in the area of social isolation and loneliness.
Peter Wilson (Assistant Director - Procurement & Logistics Service, Business Services Organisation) will discuss how companies would go about delivering services to address social isolation and how to manage the procurement cycle of Trusts / HSC-NI (meeting regulatory requirements).
And with Paul Moorhead, Founder and CTO of local startup Kraydel, which enables independent living and efficient compassionate care.
Kindly hosted by Flexera, and food/drink supplied by Aepona.
