What we're about

Does your heart race when you see a new picture of a distant galaxy? Did your palms sweat when you first saw pictures of Pluto? Are you moved when you see humans push the boundaries of exploration and science? Do you ever just want to sit and talk about space? This meetup is for space enthusiasts to join together in a social setting and discuss the latest issues and events happening in space exploration. It provides a structure for those of us in the Bellingham area to meet other space fans and advocates in our own area. And maybe even build a local space community. This is a casual meetup, though the potential for growth is up to us and the energy of our attendees.

January Space Enthusiast Meetup

Brandywine Kitchen

This event will begin with the organizers giving a casual presentation of what's happened in the space industry since our last meetup as well as what to look forward to in the near future. Additionally, there are often guest presenters that cover a specific topic. After the presentations wrap up, there will be general open conversation around space-related topics for the rest of the evening. The range of topics that we might cover at a particular meetup include: • Space Exploration Technology (SpaceX, Blue Origin, SLS) • Sol System Exploration & Science (Lunar & Mars Missions) • Earth & Near-Earth Science (Van Allen Belts, Earth's Climate) • Astronomy & Cosmology (gravity waves, exoplanets) • Exobiology (possible native life on Mars, Europa, etc.) • Near-Future Concepts (colonizing mars, telepresence) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- We also encourage members to make short presentations on space-related topics at our meetups. If you'd like to do this, then please contact the organizers (Casey & Rhys) by messaging us here on meetup.com To stay in the loop with Space-related events as they happen, then please 'like' the Bellingham Space Enthusiasts Facebook page: facebook.com/bellinghamspaceenthusiasts (https://www.facebook.com/bellinghamspaceenthusiasts/)
