Have you wanted to lead a hike, but don't know where to start, how to go about it or how much commitment it would take? This is the meetup for you!
While many of you have expressed interest in leading a hike, even more of you have asked about when the next hike is – or why we limit the number of hikers on our hikes. Many have requested hikes at times that I’m at work or hikes that require a longer drive to the trailhead (ie: extended time commitment).
My hope is that with more leaders posting hikes, the more hikes we’ll have on the calendar, increasing the variety of hikes available and the times/paces and hikers we can accommodate. Win! Win!
Join us and learn how relatively simple, and fulfilling it can be to lead a hike. Learn tips to help with the process of planning your outing, the actual posting of hikes on the meetup platform, herding cats (group management) and more. I’m hoping I can share what I’ve learned over the years and give you the opportunity to ask questions (I may not have all the answers), to see if planning and leading a hike is something you’d enjoy.
Best of all, if you choose to lead a hike - you’ll get to meet other like-minded, outdoorsy people that thrive in the pacific northwest… seriously, so much better than sitting on the couch watching TV!
Come join me and see what leading a hike for BellinghamTrails entails.
We'll be meeting at the Flatiron Building, downtown Bellingham
10 Prospect St. (The Woods across the street from Bayou on Bay. It's also the same building that Faithlife is in). The Triangle room is in the back, on the right hand side of the coffee shop. Grab a beverage and join us.
