In Love of Oregon's Oceans

Details
Dr. Kirsten Grorud-Colvert, Oregon State University, will be presenting:
Oregon's Ocean: Local Legacy and Global Goals
What happens when an area of the ocean comes under the protection of an ocean preserve? Are fisheries ruined or enhanced? Is the cost too high? Dr. Grorud-Colvert studies Oregon’s ocean and shares her research internationally to enrich global understanding of marine reserves.
If you are as passionate about our Oregon coast and its beautiful waters as I am, this will be a talk you will want to hear.
I will be arriving at 6:15 to try and reserve a table for our meetup group. Keep an eye out for the "Astronomy and Beyond" table card. Please arrive early so I don't have to hold the table long as the Belfry will fill up quickly. The lecture starts at 7:00, so we'll have time to chat before the lecture.
This presentation is brought to you by Bob Collin's and the team at the Sister's Science Club. There is a $5 admission at the door (teachers and students are free) and there is food and drink available.
