Benicia Makerspace is a place where people come together to collaborate, invent, prototype and test new ideas using state of the art equipment. Our space is like a community shop where individuals and entrepreneurs can come together to make things, use shared equipment, learn new skills, and incubate new business ideas. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, 3D printing, electric vehicles, alternative energy, robotics, arduino, and raspberry pi. The Meet-Up is open to experienced makers as well as people who are interested and want to learn.
**If you are not already a member consider joining to take the class. You can sign up on our website (http://beniciamakerspace.org/memberships/).
This class is an introduction to welding and is free for current full members who have already taken Welding 101 and would like some additional practice time or instruction. In this class you will learn the basics of TIG and MIG welding including:
- How to operate the welders
- Proper welding technique
- How to use welding for your projects
After taking this class, members will be able to practice on their own.
This class will be taught by David Nurot, a professional welder/teacher with 35 years experience teaching welding at Solano College.
Here are a few videos to get you started.
We will be having an informational party for the Steam Discovery Festival. Come join in the fun, starting with a pulled pork slider lunch. The Steam Discovery Festival is promising to be our greatest event yet and we hope you will be a part of the excitement. We will asking for exhibitors, volunteers and anyone else that can help in the success of new discovery!
Anyone is welcome. Drop by and say hi. You can check out the space and discuss fun projects. Maybe you can learn something. Maybe you can help with a project. There might even be coffee.
If you have a project you are working on bring it for show and tell. If you are stuck or need ideas this would be a great time to ask!
