What we’re about

An Open Source Contribution Session is a gathering dedicated to work on open source projects in order to give back to the community. In other words, we get things upstream.

This includes, but not limited to code, documentation, artwork, translation, bug reporting/triaging, testing, user support, infrastructure, and so on.

No matter if you are already a long term contributor, or trying to help out a project for the first time, feel free to join us.

You can expect roughly the following format:

Meeting once a month for a few hours on a weekday evening to work on contributions. As long as you share your results with the general public, it's on-topic.

In general, no presentations. For that format there are plenty of other meetups. We are focusing on the contribution and collaboration aspects of the story.

In order to let people with similar interests find each other, everybody has a chance to briefly introduce themselves, and share what they plan to work on during the given event. This is recommended, but optional, and teaming up with someone or going solo is also entirely up to you.

In general, bring your own device and/or project. Without those, it may or may not be possible to team up with others. It all depends on who ends up attending and what they intend to work on. So while there are no guarantees, just attend! :)

We try to loosely keep count of contributions during the event. If you feel like you are finished with something, just share the news with others around you.

Availability of food and drinks depend mainly on the venue and sponsors.
