Berta block is a huge bouldering center in Pankow (http://www.bertablock.de (http://www.bertablock.de/)). It has literally hundreds of routes for all levels. Since it's bouldering there's no need for ropes or harnesses. It costs 9EUR to get in and you can rent chalk and shoes if you don't already have them. There are routes for all levels from beginner (4+) up to very difficult pro routes (7+). Don't worry if you've not climbed much before most of the group will be beginner / intermediate climbers.
To get to the climbing center is about 10 minutes walk from Pankow station. Here's a map: http://www.bertablock.de/kontakt.html
When you come out of the S-Bahn station you turn left. Keep walking unit you get to the railway bridge that goes over the road. Turn left and go under the bridge. The climbing center is the second left inside a small industrial estate.
Finding the group:
We usually sit at one of the tables inside from 7:30-7:40. We'll have a Meetup sign on the table. If you come after that, we'll try to carry the sign with us.
Since this Meetup has been going on for a year, there's a large group of people who regularly climb (15-20 per week). These people usually don't RSVP on Meetup so don't worry about not having people to climb with! The group is mixed ability bouldering from grades 4a - 6c.
The group is also international and very friendly - there will always be people to help you get started if you're new to climbing.
