A 4 weeks class for beginners.
The goal of the class is to learn basics of figure drawing such has volume, lines, weight, shading.
We'll focus on proportions and forms, introducing methods and tools to simplify the human figure, based on anatomy.

We will work on quick and long poses, standing and sitting poses in order to understand foreshortening.
The overall goal will be to be able to draw models with shading and volume.
We will mainly work with pencils

In this 4 weeks course you will be introduced to the wonderful world of acrylic paint! This is not a `follow along` class, but an in-depth dive into understanding the medium of acrylic and being able to use it to paint whatever you want. We cover knowledge of acrylics and materials, techniques, colour theory, and of course practical painting.

WEEK I: Introduction to acrylic paint, what it is and how to use it. Exploring mediums and painting
techniques. Paint a gradient. Brush control.
WEEK II: Colour theory / colour wheel. Develop a palette. How to begin a painting.
WEEK III: Composition, perspective. Paint a still life.
WEEK IV: Resolving an artwork. Display and critique

Each individual will be guided separately so any level is welcome!

ALL MATERIAL WILL BE PROVIDED by us:
however you are more than welcome to bring your own material and try things out.

The aim of the class is to target a big range of people who know nothing about drawing, to the ones who have some experience already and want to develop ideas, techniques etc. therefore it will be suitable for complete beginners or intermediates.
We will sometimes have models, sometimes work on still life, sometimes on botany, sometimes we will focus rather on techniques and some other times it ́s more liberated and free.

The goal of the class is to learn how to draw, and how to find your own style with time.

DETAILED PROGRAM:
OCT 1st to Dec 10th 2026

Oct 1: Introduction to drawing with pencil forms, volume, perspective and shading.
Oct 8: Drawing with pen and ink still life, focusing on positive and negative space and silhouette drawing.
Oct 15: life drawing session with model, elaborating on pencil and charcoal and pen skills, learning about figure drawing, and applying the previous sessions into body forms and shades
Oct 22: Drawing the face with pencils
Oct 29: NO CLASS

Nov 5: Intro to Acrylics. Materials and techniques.
Nov 12: Abstract surrealism in acrylics. How to start a painting against the fear of the blank.
Nov 19: Colour theory applied through all painting mediums.
Nov 26: Intro to watercolour and gouache

Dec 3: Botanical art (drawing and painting).
Dec 10: Mixed media painting ( material choice up to students )
