First Talk:

Title of the Talk: AWS Cloud and Apache Kafka - A platform full of opportunities

Abstract: The AWS cloud provides a variety of services to build applications efficiently and operate them. This Big Data, machine learning and agile app can implement projects efficiently. As part of this talk we briefly introduce the company Amanox Solutions and showcase the benefits of using a streaming platform as an abstraction layer in the cloud that enable companies to work with different cloud vendors and hence run their business more flexible. We also will give some insights into projects that were implemented over the past 3 years.

Gabriel Schenker, Confluent

Title of Talk: What is Apache Kafka® and What is a Streaming Platform?

Abstract:
Streaming platforms have emerged as a popular, new trend, but what exactly is a streaming platform? Part messaging system, part Hadoop made fast, part fast ETL and scalable data integration, with Apache Kafka at the core, streaming platforms offer an entirely new perspective on managing the flow of data. This talk will explain what a streaming platform such as Apache Kafka is and some of the use cases and design patterns around its use—including several examples of where it is solving real business problems. New developments in this area such as KSQL will also be discussed.

Bio:
Dr. Gabriel N. Schenker has more than 25 years of experience as an independent consultant, architect, leader, trainer, mentor, and developer. Currently, Gabriel works as Lead Curriculum Developer at Confluent after coming from a similar position at Docker. Gabriel has a Ph.D. in Physics, and he is a Docker Captain, a Certified Docker Associate, and an ASP Insider. When not working, Gabriel enjoys time with his wonderful wife Veronicah and his children.
