Havdalah is going live and in-person at the Waneka Lake Picnic and Boathouse area, 1600 Caria Drive, Lafayette.

This will be a bring your own picnic event!

We will have juice to taste, spices to smell and a brief service to read. After this we will engage in a lively conversation about the significance of Juneteenth to the African American community and to Humanistic Judaism. Weather permitting, the walk around the lake is a flat and beautiful 1.2 mile stroll.

Saturday, June 19 at 6 pm (notice earlier time than usual!!)

Havdalah is the end of Shabbat. It is the welcoming in and preparing for the new week and most of all, it is a nice excuse for Humanistic Jews to get together and reflect on interesting issues.

Please consider contributing to our ongoing project:
Tikkun Olam (repairing our world) is one of our important values. Beth Ami supports EFAA (Emergency Family Assistance Association) of Boulder. Lindsey Warren, Director of Children’s Activities, said families in transitional apartments will be sending their children to day camps and will need to pack a lunch for them. Beth Ami will provide reusable lunch bags, water bottles, and sunscreen for up to 40 children. The cost per child is $15-$20.
