What we're about
NIH Taekwondo and NIH Aikido Clubs.
The NIH Tae Kwon Do School is offering a regular and beginner’s class for adults and mature teens. No previous martial arts experience is necessary. Our curriculum combines traditional striking, kicking, forms, sparring, and other basic martial arts techniques, with a particular emphasis on self-defense. In addition, we are interested in recruiting black belts in Tae Kwon Do to help out as instructors for the Club.
Members of NIH Tae Kwon Do may also enroll as members of our sister club, NIH Aikido, free of charge. Our curriculum follows the Aikido Association of America. No experience is necessary. Both classes meet in the Thomas Malone Judo and Tae Kwon Do Center (Bldg. 31C, B4 [basement] level in the “C” wing, inside the NIH Fitness Center. Both clubs are open to members of the general public, not just NIH employees.
