How long have you been writing screenplays?

I have been writing short sketches since I was in High School (about 6 years). I have been working on my first feature screenplay for a year now.

What are your screenwriting goals?

I am trying to work as an actor and writer. I try to write to create opportunities for my acting and vice versa.

What have you found most helpful in achieving your goals?

Watching and reading. Some of my best ideas have come after watching a film. Trying to get into the film's characters minds can bring a fresh outlook to your thinking process and can produce ideas you would not have considered before. Reading helps because it helps broaden your knowledge of the process. Syd Field's "The Foundation of Screenwriting" has helped me immensely with my current screenplay. Also, I have received a lot of benefits from readings outside of things specific to screenwriting and entertainment, such as personal development.

Hi, I'm an aspiring screenwriter/actor/director in North Redondo.
