What we're about

This group is for 55+ single men and women who would like to meet other singles in different settings "Beyond Happy Hour." This is a social group focused on having an even number of men and women members (not a womans group). Many meetups seem to be mostly women and I would like to even it out. So ladies. invite your guy friends. We will also focus on expanding interests, making new friends and trying new things. This is NOT a dating group, however I have no problem if a spark happens. Activities may include picnics, beach activities, day trips, game nights, concerts, cooking experiences, dancing, theater and much more. Join us if you are active and like fun adventures!

This intended to be a safe environment, being respectful and understanding boundaries.

Events will usually be limited to about 20 guests and will hopefully include a balance of genders. Our goal is to create an atmosphere that encourages friendships among men and women seeking to discover new interests that go "Beyond Happy Hours." And sometimes we will even do Happy Hours. Suggestions for events are welcome so feel free to tell me about your ideas.

ARRIELLA

Carrollwood Cultural Center

“ARIELLA has the very rare
ability to deliver pure emotion
every time she sings.
She’s a classic voice
for our modern times.”
-Fabrice Dupont-

Ariella McManus is a singer with emotional depth and a songwriter rich with breadth. Her music is an esoteric embodiment of sensory enlightenment, seamlessly fusing jazz, blues, bossa nova, samba, tango rock and soul. Teamed with guitar maestro Nicolaas Kraster, the pair effortlessly craft a sonic vision highlighted by poetic imagery and musical intimacy.
“With passionate music performed at the highest level, with intimate and honest lyrics that express, and welcome, vulnerability, with masterfully played rhythms that can move mountains with an explosion or a whisper, we believe audiences yearn to explore the farthest reaches of what music can offer,” Kraster said in a biography on Ariella’s website. “Our mission is to share the music that inspired us through the songs we've written and the covers we've re-imagined.”

By infusing Funk, Jazz & Samba with Blues, Soul & Rock, Ariella created their signature and memorable ear-catching sound
Formed in 2013, the duo Ariella quickly became one of the top acts in their native Tampa Bay music scene, as evidenced by their[masked] nomination for Best Local Band and Ari for Best Jazz Vocalist. They also received Grammy nods in two categories: Best Rock Song (“Dirty Little Secret”) and Best Rock Performance (“Dirty Little Secret” and “Bon Appetit”).

Ariella’s debut concert at the Carrollwood Cultural Center.
