Ride Like A Girl

Details
The Bicycle Trails Council (BTC) hosts a women-only mtn bike ride on the first Saturday of the month. The intent of the ride is to have fun! and to meet other women who love to mtn bike.
This month we are in for a real treat and will be riding at the Sequel Demonstration Forest ("Demo"). Demo has a super-fun and long Flow trail. Our route will be about 14 miles and 2900' of climbing. Plan on 3.5-4.0 hours of riding. It is a beautiful ride since we'll be in the forest almost the entire time. There is some fire road and the single track portions. The Flow trail, is relatively technical, having berms, tabletops, and other flow trail features. If you have ridden the flow trail at Tamarancho, you will be fine at Demo but the Demo Flow trail may be a little more difficult due to some holes and ruts. Demo is far away from amenities so and there are no good bail out points. So you must be in good aerobic shape, be able to ride somewhat technical trails, and have the endurance for a long ride.
Since this is a long and technical ride, please let me know (click here to email me) if it is too advanced for you. If there is sufficient interest In an easier ride, I will set up a women's ride two weekends later and at a park closer to the Bay area.
Demo is a pretty long drive from the Bay area so make sure you give yourselves plenty of time to drive the narrow windy sections of Summit Rd and Highland Way. Carpooling is recommended. Please bring plenty of water, snacks for the trail, and make sure your bike is in top notch condition. We'll meet in the parking lot (over the bridge) off Highland Way. fyi, there have been occasional car break-ins in the area.
If you have questions, please email Amy.
Hope to see you there!
