Ride Like a Girl – Tamarancho
Details
For the May version of our women’s ride series, we’re going to Camp Tamarancho in the scenic hills above Fairfax, CA. Join ride leader Rebecca Lewington on Saturday, May 21st in the parking lot sandwiched between Sir Francis Drake Blvd and Broadway, opposite The Coffee Roastery. (Use the section with 4-hour parking.)
We’ll start to gather at 8:30am, which will give us time to sign in and talk about the ride before we roll at 9am. We’ll have two groups. One will cover about 14 miles with about 1,900 feet of climbing, including the serpentine Endor Flow trail. The other will be a little easier at 10 miles and 1,600 feet of climbing.
Tamarancho has some tricky spots, so it may be too much for less-experienced riders.
As always, the mission of Ride Like a Girl is to have fun, learn new trails and meet other women who love to mountain bike. We’ll take care of you: these are no-stress rides where no one is left behind.
Day passes for Tamarancho are $6 and can be purchased online here.
Please bring your mountain bike, obviously, in good working condition. (No ebikes, please. They are allowed in this park, but Ride Like a Girl is strictly muscle-powered.) Whether you’re running tubeless tires or not, please make sure you have a spare inner tube to fit your wheels, plenty of water and some food for the trail.
And please consider joining BTCEB! We are much more than a group that puts on rides. BTCEB tirelessly advocates for better bike access on trails in the East Bay and we need your support.
If you have questions, please comment at the signup link and we’ll get right back to you.
