About The Compass Ballroom Stompers:
The Compass Ballroom Stompers made their debut at a Lindy Hop night in the Kompaszaal in 2015 and quickly became a fixture on the scene. Their swinging 1950s jazz gets dancers moving—and the energy bounces right back into the band.
They often play contrafacts: fresh melodies built on the chord progressions of jazz standards. Led by guitarist Matthijs Driessen, the band features Dano Roelvink on tenor sax, Bendert Zevenbergen on vibraphone, Leo Verbree on bass, and Hugo Jonker on drums. They perform monthly as “Contrafacts” in The Hague, with smaller line-ups regularly in Amsterdam.

LINDY HOP is a blend of fun, connecting with new people or sharing a memory with a friend, finding a community, getting inspired by swing music & doing something good for your body and mind!

Our Lindy Hop Crash Course is a fast, fun way to jump into swing dancing and experience the feeling yourself.

In 3,5 hours (with breaks) we will teach you the basics of Lindy Hop and some fun moves which will get you dancing in no time.

NO PARTNER NEEDED! Everyone dances with everyone, and you’ll learn BOTH roles!
