We are pleased to continue Sydney's leading Big Data Analytics meetup with the first in a series of three presentations from Dr Eugene Dubossarsky on The Future of Analytics.
The first of this trilogy will be "Analytics Nirvana - what will Analytics look like when it's done right."
Speaker 1: Dr Eugene Dubossarsky
Synopsis:
The potential of Data Analytics to transform organisations and society has only just begun to be realised.
With the advent of globalisation, automation, AI and other drivers of competition and rapid change, there is an activity that is becoming more critical every day: good decision making. Crucial to good decision making is its main enabler, data analytics.
As the sophistication of AI increases, the only human activities left will be those that cannot be automated. Increasingly, good decision making becomes the pre-eminent in-demand skill, with the assistance of powerful computational tools.
This is a world where data literacy will be as universal as computer literacy is today, and “executives” are defined and rewarded by their ability to decide well, while the ability to “execute” is the more generally available skill or function. This is also a world where organisations are structured, incentivised and managed primarily according to the effective measurement and analysis of the most important metrics.
Bio: Dr Eugene Dubossarsky is leader in the analytics field in Australia, with over 20 years’ commercial data science experience.
