Details
Agenda:
18:00 networking and gathering
18:30 "A Polylog about Redis" , Itamar Haber
19:15 "Serverless data pipeline" , Michael Haberman
Lecturer : Itamar Haber, Technology Evangelist
Bio: a self proclaimed “Redis Geek”, Itamar is the Technology Evangelist at Redis Labs, the home of open source Redis, the world’s fastest NoSQL Database. He is also the former Chief Developer Advocate, evangelising Redis to thousands of developers. Before that, he spent most of his life around tiny, medium-sized and big data.
What you will learn in this session:
we'll have an open discussion about Redis, the open-source in-memory data structures server. While most of the time I'll do the talking/demoing, the audience is encouraged to participate :) Among the things I plan to cover are:
- What is Redis - spirit, design, history and some trivia
- An overview of Redis' basic data structures - Strings, Hashes, Lists, Sets, Sorted Sets
- Using Redis as a cache and as a primary database - common patterns
- A couple of words about data persistence and availability
- The HyperLogLog - coolest niche data structure ever
- Composing and extending - a little bit about Lua scripts and Redis modules
- A dive into Redis v5's Streams
"Serverless data pipeline", Michael Haberman, Founder at Topsight
Serverless is the new kid in town but lets not forget data which is also critical for your organisation, in this talk we will look at the benefits of going serverless with your data pipeline, but also the challenges it raises. This talk will be heavily loaded with demos so watch out!
