Im Anschluss werden wir tiefer in die Funktion von Istio einsteigen und sehen wie die operationale und technische Komplexität des Service-Mesh von verteilten Systemen durch Istio reduziert werden kann. Jahrhunderts Das Thema Datenanalyse, Modellierung und Data Science beeinflusst schon seit geraumer Zeit die Planungen und strategischen Entscheidungen in Unternehmen und Organisationen. In diesem Meetup geben wir einen Einblick in das Thema Data Science, sowie eine Abgrenzung bzw. ein Vergleich zur klassischen Statistik. Es werden die Möglichkeiten und Chancen aufgezeigt, die in der Anwendung von Data Science Methoden stecken und verschiedene Wege aufgezeigt wie man Data Science Projekte gestalten kann. Es wird der Frage nachgegangen welchen Wert Data Science Modelle haben, was Data Science leisten kann (und was nicht) und was man bei der Interpretation von Data Science Modellen und Vorhersagen beachten muss. Die Menge von verfügbaren Daten wächst exponentiell und stellt das Gold des 21. Jahrhunderts dar. MIRANA - der mobile intelligente Roboteragent für Navigation und Assistenz (Universität Lübeck) Ein weiteres Thema des Meetups wird der Roboteragent MIRANA sein, der an der Universität Lübeck entwickelt wurde. Einer der Entwickler wird uns das Projekt vorstellen und uns einige spannende Insights in MIRANA’s Einsatz in Krankenhäusern berichten. Ziel ist es, dass MIRANA Patienten hilft sich im Krankenhaus zurecht zu finden sowie schnell, bequem und sicher zu Untersuchungsterminen zu gelangen. Aber auch darüberhinaus gibt es viele Möglichkeiten wie MIRANA unterstützen kann. Roboter und autonome intelligente Systeme haben einen immer größer werdenden Einfluss auf verschiedenste Lebensbereiche. Zum Beispiel finden sie Einsatz in der Industrie, in der Logistik, der Medizin, oder auch zunehmend im privaten Bereich. In diesem Meetup stellen wir MIRANA (Mobile Intelligent Robotic Agent for Navigation and Assistance) vor. Ein selbstfahrender Sprachassistent, der als Unterstützung für das vorhandene Fachpersonal in Kliniken, in Alten- und Pflegeheimen aber auch im Einzelhandel als Navigationshilfe eingesetzt werden kann. MIRANA basiert dabei auf drei Hauptkomponenten: dem Robot Operating System (ROS), einem Deep-Learning-Modell (Tensorflow) zur “Hotword”-Detektion und dem Watson Assistant. ROS übernimmt dabei die Koordination und die Steuerung der Komponenten, die für die Navigation und die Fahrplanung benötigt werden. Die “Hotword”-Detektion sorgt dafür, dass der Roboter offline, d.h. ohne Verbindung zum Internet, erkennt, wann er angesprochen wird. Darauf folgend wird eine Verbindung zum Watson-Assistant hergestellt. Dieser ist ein Cloud-basiertes Assistenzsystem, welches die Anfragen der Kunden/Patienten über gesprochene Sprache erfasst, diese intelligent verarbeitet und eine entsprechende Antwortreaktion ausgibt. In diesem Talk bekommen Sie einen Überblick über die relevanten Themen, die zur Entwicklung des vorgestellten Roboterassistenten nötig sind.

  • Towards de-facto standard in AI: What’s new in TensorFlow 2.0

    Towards the End of 2015 Google released TensorFlow, which started out as just another numerical library, but has grown to become a de-facto standard in AI technologies. TensorFlow received a lot of hype as part of its initial release, in no small part because it was released by Google. Despite the hype, there have been complaints on usability as well. Especially, for example, the fact that debugging was only possible after construction of the static execution graph. In addition to that, neural networks needed to be expressed as a set of linear algebra operations which was considered as too low level by many practitioners. PyTorch and Keras addressed many of the flaws in TensorFlow and gained a lot of ground. TensorFlow 2.0 successfully addressed those complaints and promises to become the go-to framework for many AI problems. In this talk we’ll introduce you to the most prominent changes in TensorFlow 2.0 and how you can use these new features successfully in your projects. We’ll cover eager execution, parallelisation strategies, the advantages of the tight high level Keras integration, live neural network training monitoring using TensorBoard, automated hyper parameter optimization, Model serving with TensorFlow Service, TensorFlow.js and TensorFlow Lite. We’ll finalise with an outlook on TFX - where Google is planning to open source it’s complete AI pipeline and will contrast it with existing de-facto standard frameworks like Apache Spark.

  • Building Brains - Parallel training strategies of deep learning networks

    DeepLearning is so powerful that it rapidly transforms the Machine Learning space. But DeepLearning is very resource and data hungry. In this talk we show how neural network training works and how it can be parallelized on large scale GPU clusters using inter-model, intra-model, data and pipelined parallelism. We’ll use TensorFlow 2.0 for demonstration purposes.
