SmartCat is a Brain-Powered AI Company.
We have been proud to be part of the Meet-up community since 2016. During this period, SmartCat organized many events under the group Big Data Novi Sad. We like to talk about all aspects of the AI industry, but what we really enjoy is being someone who shares the knowledge, experience, and ideas about distributed, intelligent systems.
Still, the best part of that journey it’s that we meet incredible people, enthusiasts, and experts in different technologies, and we create a strong network with many of them. Some of those connections became our teammates, our partners but before everything, our friends.

In this session we walk through our migration from an on-prem Spark cluster to a Databricks Data Intelligence Platform that now delivers real-time insight to millions users across South America, Europe, and Africa. You will learn how we:- Designed a Structured Streaming pipelines that reduces data latency from hours to seconds
- Applied Unity Catalog to standardise governance, lineage, and fine-grained access control
- Iterated over 10 ML prototypes and shipped two recommendation models using MLflow and Databricks Workflows
