Big Data for Business

Businesses need data processing and analysis.  It's a difficult world out there, we're still identifying the next steps, and debating their validity.

We will be down south for the next few meetups, and will be hosted by the wonderful Innovation Pavilion.  At this time, we will provide some beer and pizza, as well.

This month we will have a presentation from Masroor Farooqi, concerning data warehousing and interconnecting data.  While that may be just enough to entice, we _should_ also have a live three node cluster for you to connect to and have a quick demonstration on the nuts and bolts of Hadoop's configuration.  I've finally found some work-arounds and cost-effective options to host, so this will be done by this meetup.

We look forward to seeing you, and hope you enjoy!

If you didn't receive the email, I had to quickly cancel today because of work related concerns. Here's the email:

My apologies, I know this is short notice, but this month we'll need to re-schedule. The speaker, who is me, is indisposed with work, and I'd like to give this presentation along with another presenter, next month.

I hope this makes it to you in time, and please feel free to shoot me an email ([masked] or [masked]) if you have any issues.

We will still be hanging out on google+ the middle of June, and meeting up at Innovation Pavilions at the end of June.

I hope you all have a chance to check out Data Science and Business Analytics presentation on python and relational technologies:

For everyone that is just interested in learning about hadoop and big data, feel free to send an email and I'd be glad to forward you material and discuss any broad, or specific, topics.

Not sure what happened. About 6 people showed up, but there wasn't a meeting or we were in the wrong place...maybe folks got stuck in traffic?
