What we're about
‘Big Data Bristol’ is a meetup group for people interesting in the practical application of big data and related technologies, beyond the hype and marketing blurb. We aim to provide an open, friendly environment in which everyone can participate, learn and share their knowledge and experience.
So, whether, you’re an administrator, developer, data scientist, analyst, professional, academic or just have a general interest in the technology, please feel free to join. It is worth noting that the group is independent, being both platform and vendor neutral and whilst there is a focus on Hadoop, other systems and technologies (i.e. cloud) are also explored.
Meetings provide an opportunity for established and new speakers to share their experience, knowledge and thoughts to the benefit of all members. Attendees are encouraged to socialise, ask questions, network and learn from other members. We aim to cater for different experience levels, covering topics suitable for beginners through to more established users.
The group is just starting out so please bear with us whilst we get up and running. In the mean time, if you have any queries, suggestions or want to help organise the group, please get in touch!
