Rookwood Tour


Details
The focus of this ride is Rookwood Necropolis.
We meet as usual at Bar Italia, Norton St Leichhardt and leave by 8:30. through suburban back streets into Rookwood Necropolis.
The tour should take less than two hours, including a coffee stop at Reflections Cafe.
Rookwood is huge, it has its own postcode. Our tour will start at the site of the Rookwood Mortuary station, now a church in Ainslie in Canberra.
We will go through the 19th century part of the general and Catholic sections, there are examples of Gothic revival arts.
Rookwood is the largest working Victorian cemetery in the world.
Coffee at Reflections Cafe.
From there, we will go back to Leichhardt.
Please bring water, a spare tube. Must have a helmet, and be able to ride a bike comfortably for several hours.
There could be a little rain, but not much to worry about.
