Welcome to Bikealicious! We are a cycling group based in London who regularly organise rides which take you out of London and into to some beautiful, picturesque, quiet parts of Southeast England for some awesome cycling adventures ! :-))

Fed up of cycling on your own ? Then come and join us on one of our Group rides! Group cycling is great; you get to exercise, you often get to see places you might not have seen before but always wanted to, you get the chance to cycle along some charming, picturesque parts of England and at the same you get the chance to meet new people with whom you have something exciting in common ! :-))

Eton, Maidenhead, Burnam Beeches and Pinewood studios, easy pace (12x2) 24 miles

Please join us for an picturesque adventure starting in Langley and passing through Eton Dorney, following the Jubilee river to Maidenhead and then along back roads and country lanes to Burnham Beeches and Pinewood studios. This ride is suitable for all levels. The following bikes will be suitable; hybrids, mountain, cyclocross, gravel, it will not be suitable for road bikes with skinny tires. We will be cycling at a sociable easy pace, most cyclists should easily be able to keep up. Please note, Bicycles are allowed at the weekends on the Overground, District Line, Hammersmith & City and Circle lines and the above ground sections of all the other lines at the weekends. Here is the plan for our day: 1) Meet inside Ealing Broadway Station, by ticket machines. Please provide the meetup fee of £3 to the group leader. If you wish to pay in advance, please send £3 to [masked] via paypal and please choose friend option to avoid fees. 2) Take train to Langley, return ticket costs £6.10 (20mins) 3) Cycle to Eton and then along the jubilee river cycle path to Maidenhead 4) Lunch in Maidenhead ( 1hour) 5) Cycle along back roads and country lanes to Burnham beeches and Pinewood studios. 6) Take train back to Ealing from Langley. 7) Optional drinks in Ealing Please note that this is a group ride and we will be cycling as a group, no one will be left behind. Our average cycling speed will be approx 9mph The total mileage including the lunch stop will be approx 24 miles. Helmet, bell, lights and a spare inner tube will be compulsory. Please bring a lock. This meetup will be weather dependent so 12 hours before the event begins if heavy rain is forecast then the event will be cancelled, please check the website the evening before the event begins. Please note if you are a "no show for the ride", or you frequently cancel last minute, you may be put on the waiting list for future rides. Richmond into The Surrey Hills, (37x2) 75miles, 4400ft

Inside Richmond Tube Station Entrance; by the ticket machines

Please join us for a cycling adventure into the Surrey Hills Some of the county’s prettiest villages can be found in the Surrey Hills. From picture-perfect Mickleham to the very peaceful Abinger Hammer, Surrey’s chocolate box villages have period properties, winding lanes and hillside views aplenty. Leith Hill is set within the Surrey Hills, and from the tower rising majestically above the surrounding hills you can see sweeping views towards London in the North and the English Channel in the South. The top of the tower is the highest point in South-East England. We will be cycling up some of the famous hills in the area, including Leith Hill, Whitedown lane and box hill. Expect to cycle up at least 6 hills. Road bikes & CycloCross bikes would be best suited for this ride, if you have a hybrid, please email me on [masked] to see if your bike is suitable. We welcome cyclists who are new to road cycling. You will be looked after and not left to fend for yourself. For those cyclists who do not wish to do the whole route there will be a few train stations along the route, so if you wish to join us for part of the ride and then take the train back en route you are welcome to. The total mileage including the lunch stop will be approx 70miles. This is will be a very hilly route. Total climbing will be close to 4100ft. Please note bicycles are allowed on the district, hammersmith & city, circle, overground and the above ground sections of all the other lines at the weekends. If this event is cancelled then full refunds will be given. Here is the plan for our day: 1) Meet inside Richmond station upstairs, by ticket machines. 2) Cycle to Leith Hill ( 3hours). 3) Lunch in a nice country Pub (60mins) 4) Cycle back to Richmond via Box Hill, a different route ( 3hrs) 5) Optional drinks in Richmond, either near the park or on the Riverside. Our average cycling speed including stopping at lights and waiting for group members will be approx 12mph. Our average moving speed will be approx 14mph, which translates as approx 15-20mph on flat roads, depending on the direction of the wind ! No one will be left behind, however if you are struggling to keep up then we will talk to you about how you are feeling and if necessary advise you to leave the ride and give you directions to the nearest station. Helmet, spare inner tube and lights will be compulsory. It is also recommended that you have a bell (although not compulsory). This meetup will be weather dependent so 12 hours before the event begins if heavy rain is forecast then the event will be cancelled, please check the website the evening before the event begins. Kew Gardens to Borough market,easy pace, all bikes, 15 miles, or 30 miles return

Please join us for an picturesque adventure from Kew Gardens to Borough Market, cycling along the river path and back roads following the river, we will pass numerous famous Landmarks such as Craven Cottage (home of Fulham FC), Battersea Park, Houses of Parliament, to name just a few. Ending up at Borough market to have lunch. You have the option to drop out here or make the return journey and drop out when you would like to. This ride will be suitable for all levels and all bikes. If you wish to only ride part of the route and drop out at some point, then of course that will be okay. Here is the plan for our day: 1) Meet outside Starbucks in Kew. 50m from the eastbound entrance to Kew Gardens station, please note there are 2 entrances to the station, there is a small subway linking the 2 entrances. Please provide the meetup fee of £3 to the group leader. If you wish to pay in advance, please send £3 to [masked] via paypal and please choose friend option to avoid fees. 2) Cycle to Borough Market, following the river as closely as possible.(2 hours). Please bring a good quality lock. 3) Lunch in Borough Market. I will be cycling back to west London, you can join me if you wish to. 4) Optional drinks on Hammersmith Riverside. Please note, Bicycles are allowed at the weekends and bank holidays on the Overground, District Line, Hammersmith & City and Circle lines and also the overland sections of all other lines. Please note that this is a group ride and we will be cycling as a group, no one will be left behind. Our average cycling speed will be approx 8-9mph. The total mileage including the lunch stop will be approx 15 miles, or 30 miles if you make the return journey. Helmet, bell, spare inner tube, lights and a good quality lock will be compulsory. Country Lanes in Essex, (45x2) 90miles, 3500ft

Costa Coffee inside Liverpool Street Station

Please join us for what promises to be a brilliant ride through some beautiful villages in Essex and along many picturesque quiet country lanes. Starting in Broxbourne and cycling along some of the finest cycling lanes in the south east of England. We will have lunch not far from picturesque medieval market town of Saffron Walden. If you wish to meet us at Broxbourne station please email me on [masked]. We welcome cyclists who are new to road cycling. You will be looked after and not left to fend for yourself. Road bikes & CycloCross bikes and hybrids with slim tyres (without suspension) would be best suited for this ride, if you are unsure, please email me on [masked] to see if your bike is suitable. Please note bicycles are allowed on the district, hammersmith & city, circle, overground and the above ground sections of all the other lines at the weekends. For those cyclists who do not wish to do the whole route there will be a few train stations along the route, so if you wish to join us for part of the ride and then take the train back en route you are welcome to. The total mileage will be approx 90 miles. This is a undulating route with many short sharp hills, total climbing 3500ft. Here is the plan for our day: 1) Meet inside Liverpool Street Station, by Costa Coffee Shop (not kiosk) , (beside entrance to Underground) 2) Take train to Broxbourne (30mins), you will need an oyster card or contactless card, Broxbourne is in Zone 9. 3) Cycle through many picturesque villages to near Safron Walden ( 3 1/2 hrs) 4) Lunch in nice Country Pub or Cafe (1 hrs) 5) Cycle back to Starting point (3 1/2 hrs) 6) Take train back to Liverpool street. Our overall average cycling speed including stops will be approx 12mph, our moving average will be approx 14mph, which translates as approx 15-19mph on flat roads, depending on the direction of the wind ! No one will be left behind, however if you are struggling to keep up then we will talk to you about how you are feeling and if necessary advise you to leave the ride and give you directions to the nearest station. Helmet, lights and a spare inner tube will be compulsory. It is also recommended that you have a bell (although not compulsory). It is advisable to a small lightweight lock. We try to keep our bikes visible during lunch, a small lock will deter the opportunist thief. Please note if you are a "no show for the ride", or you frequently cancel last minute, you may be put on the waiting list for future rides.
