Fremont Bicycle Pedestrian Technical Advisory Committee meeting. Come check out the Fremont Bicycle Pedestrian Technical Advisory Committee meeting! Agenda Items: 5.1 Quarry Lakes Parkway Project (Formerly East-West Connector Project) Quarry Lakes Parkway project team will provide an overview of the Quarry Lakes Parkway project to Bicycle Pedestrian Technical Advisory Committee (BPTAC) members to inform them of the proposed multi-modal roadway improvements along the corridor. The BPTAC members and the public will have opportunity to comment on the proposed roadway improvements and bicycle and pedestrian facilities. 5.2 Mobility Commission Update At the April 2019 BPTAC meeting Transportation staff reported to the BPTAC about the City’s consideration of establishing a new Mobility Commission as recommended by the City’s Mobility Action Plan (MAP). The City’s Public Work Director, Hans Larsen will provide an update on the progresses that have been made to establish a new Mobility Commission. 5.3 Vision Zero Program Update Fremont’s Vision Zero Program was originally approved by the City Council in September 2015 with a goal to reduce severe and fatality related collisions by 2020. Transportation staff will provide an update on the progresses that have been made since the initial implementation of the Plan in March 2016. Transportation staff will provide information of ongoing and recently completed Vision Zero projects and programs and planned projects for future implementation. The Niles Canyon Stroll & Roll is a rare event where Highway 84 (Niles Canyon Road) is closed to vehicular traffic. This is an opportunity for people to bike and walk safely through the canyon with their friends and family.
