Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

by Jonathan Safran Foer

Calling all readers and philosophers! This group is for anyone 1) interested in reading a series of mind-blowing books and 2) keen on discussing their readings and unlocking the wonder behind every word contained in these masterpieces. We will embark on a grand adventure through the pages of the books listed on the meticulously-crafted reading schedule. We will meet twice a month, though only one book is assigned monthly. This way, we aren't hard-wired and mentally gridlocked while trying to cram all 400-500 pages of a work into one discussion. Every book will get two discussions in a month, so please read the first half by the first monthly meeting. Every session will be led by a different Bookwyrm, so everyone gets a chance to lead the discussion at some point!

Tentative Book Reading Calendar for 2015-2016:

July: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig

August: Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk

November: The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster

December: The Shining by Stephen King
