Capital Infrastructure projects are important because they connect people and help us to grow. They can be uncertain, because they have large bid times, and are often contingent on assumptions and risks which often manifest. But there is no data set of what risks actually manifest. Although there are industry standard KPIs which cane be tracked, it is often difficult to get a good data set against which to make measurements and predictions which would help reduce uncertainty on current and future projects. This presentation describes why it is worth applying AI technologies to both developing and interrogating a construction data set, and describes how EK/Logikal have worked together to take steps on this journey, using Building Information Modelling and Project Controls techniques to develop a data set. It also describes some current applications of technology and potential future applications.

Iain is a Chartered Engineer with experience in practical project management, project controls and cost engineering, across multiple sectors. Iain is highly knowledgeable in all engineering, project planning and project controls disciplines. Iain has an MBA in Engineering Management and is technically skilled in a wide range of project systems and tools. He has experience performing a range of project management roles across construction, rail and highways sectors. His impressive academic and professional qualifications complement his knowledge of engineering and project delivery.
