What we're about

Welcome to the Birmingham Rock Music Group.

Free to all / No joining membership fees.

We welcome all tastes from classic rock, alternative, metal, punk, ska, pop-punk, grunge, goth and industrial. You’ll find some of us even listen to country/ folk and traditional Irish music from time to time too so we’re a pretty diverse and open minded group of people.

If you’re new to the city and want to meet new people or just looking for a good night out in Birmingham (the birthplace of heavy metal music) then feel free to join us.

We often go out as a group to Subside, The Flapper, Scruffy Murphys, Costamongers, The Hammer and Anvil, UPRAWR! as well as several pubs/venues that have live music around Birmingham. We have even done karaoke nights, bowling, cinema trips and picnics during the summer, so don’t worry if you’re not much of a drinker, we like to mix it up and have as much fun as possible!

The best way to stay up to date is via one or both of our Whatsapp groups. That’s where a lot of spontaneous, unofficial plans get made.
Please get in touch with one of the organisers for the link.

If you have any ideas about any upcoming events please get in touch with any of our organisers. Thank you.

REMINDER: Melvin Hancox Band

The Greenlands Inn

I’ve purchased 14 tickets for this event in a new venue. You may have seen this band and if you haven’t you won’t be disappointed. It’s rock with more than a hint of psychedelia. If you like to watch a brilliant guitarist then Melvin is right up there. The venue is an ex-social club. It’s got a very large function room and social distancing measures are in place. It has parking for over 60 cars and is opposite Longbridge train station. You can purchase tickets from the venue via their website or you can have my bank details via message link and I can get them for you. The tickets I have purchased are for friends from another group. You will be welcome to come on your own, The more the merrier. Tickets cost. £5

9 Carat Purple - Deep Purple Tribute

Cotteridge Social Club

Remember ‘Smoke on The Water’ Meet in the Grant Arms for a pre-drink drink. After gig - back to the Grant Arms for an after-gig drink. After that, there’s the chip shop opposite the The Grant Arms. If you fancy a rocking good night down memory lane, I’ll need your name and postcode. You can send it in messenger. (Band requirement) £8 on the door if name and postcode on band’s list. £10 on the door if not. The gig is upstairs. Park on road outside.
