Virtual WordPress Bham - Under the hood of the Block Editor

For the foreseeable future, WordPress Birmingham is staying digital!

As usual, we'll be hosting the event on Zoom, all you need to do to join the event is to download the zoom app to your mobile, tablet or laptop and click the link shown on this page at 6.30pm (published day of event).

Along with the usual WordPress news and banter, this month we are focusing on the Block Editor (or Gutenberg as you may know it) and related subjects. We are delving a-little deeper than just 'using it' as an editor - we are getting under the hood!

We are now moving to a-little more technical based topics during 2021, but no-matter what level you use WordPress at, you're sure to find our friendly meetup happy to discuss a range of topics and share useful information.

> THIS MONTHS PRESENTATION:

Lessons from building WordPress sites with the block editor
Presented by: Mark Wilkinson - Co-founder of Highrise Digital and co-host of WPCafe

Over the course of the last 12 months we have adopted the block editor as the primary content editor in WordPress for all our projects. We have travelled through the emotions from feeling scared, annoyed and now pretty confident and excited about what we can do with the block editors for give our clients great websites.

In this presentation I will demonstrate our journey and look at the key lessons we have learned over the last 12 months building WordPress sites using the block editor. If you really want to try building sites like this then I am sure these lessons will help you out massively.
