·  Used to be a researcher, my research topic was how to make Elm more useful and user-friendly

·  Currently work at NoRedInk as a remote employee where I am a senior frontend engineer/ops

·  Core contributor to most Elm libraries

·  Gave an initial meetup talks at London, Stockholm, Oslo and Berlin Elm meetups

·  The only person to have written full-stack Elm in production (server-side, css, build tools + client side)

·  My day to day job is writing Elm, and improving our Elm tooling at NoRedInk

Om kvelden

We'll talk about what Elm is, the advantages it has, and what those look like in production. Once we've talked about using Elm, I will then demo how to write your first Elm application, talking through the syntax, the benefits, and briefly relating the internals to the internals of popular frameworks inspired by Elm, such as Redux. I will then touch on some of the tooling that Elm has, and how they influence our day to day lives as Elm programmers. Questions welcome at any time in the talk!

After the first hour or so, we will break out and turn into the traditional Elm meetup - actually making things together! I will answer any questions, help with any implementation problems, and discuss any topic - from beginning to advance Elm!

Make sure you bring your laptop!

Hello everyone! I'm looking forward to tomorrow. A brief suggestion: make sure that you have Elm installed for the workshop part. The simplest way to do this by far is to use npm - `npm install -g elm` will give you all the Elm binaries you need to have a great time. We'll be using the material from ElmBridge for the workshop part for any new beginners - we made sure the content was accessable to anyone with some programming knowledge, so it's a good place to start.
If you have any other projects you've worked on before, please feel free to work on those too - I love to answer questions about Elm of all complexity!
