The Lightning Bowl - A debate on the future of Bitcoin & The Lightning Network

With the big game in town we thought we'd hold our very own!! If you haven't heard of The Lightning Network (LN for short) it is the much awaited scaling solution promised to allow Bitcoin to handle the huge volume of transactions needed to meet the demands of global commerce. There are many who doubt this claim though and it has created great schisms in the Bitcoin community as to the best path to replacing the legacy fiat currency system.

Join us as we host and Oxford styled debate between long time LN enthusiast, John Ruggieri (AT&T) (https://link.medium.com/8rPfiMww2T ) and long time skeptic, Chris Kleeschulte (former Bitpay and Segwig2X dev) (https://link.medium.com/WIkXJOh91T). The question: Will The Lightning Network be good for the future of Bitcoin? Will it will rise to the occasion and keep Bitcoin as the dominant crypto-currency or crash and burn leaving the playing field open to Bitcoin's many competitors? Both debaters will be publishing articles supporting their position on Medium.com 3 days prior to the event. We'll publish those here on the page when they are released. Then winner will be decided as we will take a poll at the beginning of the debate and at the end in the traditional Oxford style.

In addition to this fantastic mental feast John will also be bringing his BBQ 'A' game to the debate too with his now famous 'crack' ribs (TM), depending on the weather we may also be grilling out and of course there will be FREE beer and beverages and FREE parking!
