₿🗣️ Crypto-Circle in Englischer Garten 🏞️
Details
Hello everyone, let's finish the summer break with something new: a casual-but-constructive get-together in the Amphitheater in the Englischer Garten. The weather forecast promises still warm weather, and we have some leftover beverages (beers, mate, and other stuffs) that we can offer and share as long as stocks last.
We don't have an official program, but the idea for this format is to discuss a range of topics one at a time with the whole group. Whoever wants can also give an impromptu lightning talk (free-style, no equipment at the place; topic can be about the technology, about economics, about political perspectives, and similar educational content; no marketing or ICO promotion!).
So what can we discuss in our conspiratorial crypto-circle? Here are some suggestions:
Part I - For newcomers
- (Actually) Understanding Bitcoin https://imgur.com/a/CTgw8ow
- Basics of the Lightning Network
- Blerkchain Derpchain: Learning to discern between hype and reality
- Mobile Wallets these days - which ones to recommend? Let's try some.
Part II - For the pros and fanatics
- Vitalik's recent tweet storm about the roadmap of Casper: https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin/status/1029900695925706753
- Looking back on recent history concerning SegWit and UASF, drawing lessons about (non)governance in Bitcoin
- Bitcoin onchain roadmap: Schnorr, Taproot, Graftroot, etc
Should the weather be not good and warm enough, we'll seek shelter in one of the beer gardens in the Englischer Garten. We'll inform in the comments in that case.
If you have questions or suggestions, feel free!
We might require some help for carrying stuffs, so if you can show up at 18:00 and lend a hand, it will be much appreciated!
(It's best to use your map app to find the place. meetup.com requires us to specify an address, and the Englischer Garten is big, so we picked the closest address to the bridge over the creek you need to pass to get there. We could "move the pin" on the meetup.com map to the correct spot, but the feature of correctly displaying this in all circumstances is often buggy and not reliable.)
