Zcash {Talk}

Two members of the Zcash company, which supports development of the privacy focused crypto-currency project, will be in town to give BOB members an overview of the Zcash project.

Linda Naeun Lee will join us to discuss what Zcash is, how it’s different from other coins, why privacy matters and how Zcash achieves privacy and selective disclosure. Linda holds a master's degree in Computer Science with an emphasis on security and user research from UC Berkeley, she is the former UX team lead for Tor and is currently working on user experience research for the Zcash Company.

Zcash engineer Eirik Ogilvie-Wigley will discuss what metrics pertaining to privacy the Zcash Company keeps track of, such as shielded and unshielded transactions, and the methodologies behind calculating them. Eirik is a long time developer with a degree in mathematics from CU Boulder.

The talks will be followed by a Q&A session.

Lightning Talks: This workshop will include lightning talks by community members. In 2 minutes anyone can present their idea, ask for help, recruit partners, or launch new projects. It's a perfect opportunity to find co-founders, coders, advisors, designers, and clients to help make your idea a reality. Who should attend? All ages and experience levels are welcome. If you’re new, you’ll find friendly faces excited and ready to show you the ropes. If you’re a Bitcoin or open-blockchain expert, you’ll find like-minded people to discuss new or existing projects.

Logistics: The event will be held between 2pm and 5pm at mHUB, which is an innovation center for physical product development and manufacturing and a co-working community. It is located just east of Chicago Ave and Milwaukee Ave, just a few blocks from the Kennedy expressway and the Blue line. Look for the BOB signs when you arrive.
