Confessions of a Mining Pool Operator

Details
Please note that this talk is hosted by the Edge developer Kylan Hurt and the San Diego Blockchain Development Meetup. It will be a little bit less technical than the typical Blockchain Dev presentation, and we are encouraging non-developers to attend
In November 2018 I, Kylan Hurt, partnered up with a server-side developer to put together mining pool software in anticipation of the January 2019 GRIN cryptocurrency launch. Cryptocurrency mining was an area of the ecospace that I knew very little about, but I pushed forward and started helping put together the mining pool.
Now a few weeks removed from the official launch, how did our mining pool fare? What lessons were learned? What went well and what went poorly? Would I ever do it again? I give the dirty details on 2019's biggest cryptocurrency launch as seen from the side of a mining pool operator and administrator.

Transportation
Parking is limited and mostly metered: Remember yellow zones are 30 minute parking until 6pm. So get in a bit early and snag a yellow loading zone spot at 530pm.
The trolley is also an option.
Try to AVOID Horton Plaza parking.
