What we're about

Can Bitcoin help create a better world? Whether you're a beginner, OG, technophobe, genius, revolutionary, retiree, frustrated Keynesian, Austrian Economist, libertarian, Russian spy, hippy or militant altcoin opponent, you're welcome here!

When a pseudonymous programmer introduced “a new electronic cash system that’s fully peer-to-peer, with no trusted third party” to a small online mailing list in 2008, very few paid attention. Ten years later, and against all odds, this upstart autonomous decentralised software offers an unstoppable and globally-accessible hard money alternative to modern central banks.¹

I've been fascinated by the power and incredible potential of Bitcoin since 2012 and have recently moved back to Dundee. I'm keen to get connected locally with like-minded individuals and organise regular gatherings open to anyone with an interest in Bitcoin. In particular, I'd like to focus on Bitcoin's potential to transform our world with a new monetary system that is decentralised, apolitical and a free-market alternative to national central banks. The possibility of shifting the pendulum of sovereignty away from governments in favour of individuals, offering us the tantalising possibility of a world where money is fully extricated from politics and unrestrained by borders.¹

While Bitcoin is a new invention of the digital age, the problem it purports to solve is as old as human society itself; transferring value across time and space.¹

As this is a new group, I'm open to ideas, support and feedback.

Ultimately I'm keen for this group to create the possibilities of wonder, joy, education, entertainment, community, support, collaboration and contribution.

Let's get together and see what transpires!
