Blockchain 101: Beneath the Hype

25 Broadway

**We are taking it back to basics again for the first Meetup of 2019!** If you have been hearing about people making outrageous sums of money by betting on random coins but have been unable to understand what the craze is about, this event is for you. If you ARE one of those people who has made (or lost) money betting on cryptocurrencies but have not taken the time to dive into the technology behind the hype, this event is also for you. Lastly, if you are far down the blockchain rabbit hole but simply want to connect with and support the learning of others who are new to the space, then this event is also for you. By the end of the event, you will have a better understanding of the following: * What is bitcoin? * What is a blockchain? * What are the potential impacts of this technology? * What are its limitations? * What are the risks to investing in cryptocurrencies? There will be time for networking over pizza and soft drinks at the beginning of the event. Afterward, we will continue to connect and fellowship over drinks at Pier A Harbor House (22 Battery Pl, New York, NY). ---------------------- Agenda 6:30 - 7:00PM: Networking 7:00 - 8:00PM: Seminar - What is a blockchain?
