What we're about

I've been looking all over for a meetup specifically for Black Lesbians because we are so spread out. I created this meetup to share outings, make friends, possible matchmaking and to just have a Afro Centric webspace for us to get off the net and get out and interact on a very frequent basis. So if you want to be able to connect with large groups of Black, Bi-racial Black, African American and otherwise Black identified lesbians please join and Lez Be Friends.

Long Beach Pride

Long Beach Shoreline Marina

Hey ladies let's celebrate pride together! Tickets are about $22 dollars with fees or you can pay at the gate if you don't mind waiting in line. Let's all meet at the official Long Beach Pride booth inside the festival at 12pm. We will wait until about 12:15 and then head out to have a great time together. It is ideal to bring cash for the food vendors but you can use cards to purchase alcohol inside. They do bag searches so be "mindful & creative" if you are bringing anything inside. Parking historically has been $10-15 dollars. Parking is cash only. There are no ins and outs at the festival so if we can decide together to change the meet spot to "pre-game" if desired.

Game Night

Long Beach

Come and join us for an evening of board games and interesting conversations. This event is more of a meet and greet/breaking the ice kind of gathering. Please do not feel pressured to be a competitive player or stay the entire night. What to bring: -Board and/or card games (i.e. Cards against humanity, What do you meme, Charades, Jenga, Uno, Twister, Taboo, etc.) -Food and/or drinks you would like to share with others -GOOD ENERGY Please send me a message (or text me) the day of so I can provide you with the address.

Beach BlackOUT - Welcome to Summer Beach Party

Bolsa Chica State Beach

It's that time of year again where we take our Queer Melanin Magic to the Beach. Looking to have the Black Queer (LGBTQIA+) community come together to welcome the start of summer. This is the premiere bonding experience for the Black Queer community to just relax and enjoy a day at the beach. You are welcome to bring non-black allies, friends, partners etc however we do ask that anyone you bring respect the space we are trying to build. This is a BYOE (Bring your own Everything event). If you bring something to share even better. We do ask everyone to chip in bringing wood to keep the bonfire going. The exact location of the tower will be sent out early in the morning on the day of the event so please make sure we have the right email for you. Don't forget the essentials: Sunblock, Water, Snacks/food, Juice Pack/Portable Chargers (so many dead phones last time, whew) and a great attitudes. Beach toys and games are very welcome. Be discreet with any adult beverages and other forms of refreshment. I'm looking for early birds to hold down the bonfire pit(s). Let me know if you can help.
