Winter Solstice Naked Yoga

The Madison House

$40.00

The winter solstice is a time of quiet energy, where you get the opportunity to look within yourself and focus on what you want and need. It's a time to set goals and intentions for the coming year, to examine and let go of our past, and to make changes within ourselves. The solstice is essentially tied to a personal awakening. Every journey must find its end, and fall is the bittersweet embodiment of this. Join us on an inner journey as we travel deep within to embrace the sacred art of letting go. Naked Yoga, helps you discover an entirely new way of looking at your own body, inspiring you to take pride and pleasure in your unique physique and capabilities. It teaches you to embrace your imperfections and open your heart to yourself and to the world with courage and confidence. For people who suffer from low self-esteem and poor body image, when they practice without clothing in a safe, nurturing environment, they come to appreciate their bodies and understand that their feelings of shame are not their own, but a kind of inherited mind-state that comes as a result of societal judgments. Naked yoga helps anyone who wishes to be free of the emotional shackles that prevent us from celebrating all that we are, and all that we can be. Nakedness is a mental, spiritual, emotional journey of high vibrations. Nakedness isn't the act of being nude but being free. Please bring mat and towel. Tickets must be purchased online. www.themadisonhousedc.com/events/winter-solstice-naked-yoga

Love & Affection, "The Sacred Art of Touch"

The Madison House

$40.00

Skin-to-skin contact is vital for not only mental and emotional health, but physical health, too. It’s difficult to find time to relax in today’s hectic world. Many even sacrifice their time for intimacy to work more hours. But intimacy with others is one of the essential elements to make human beings happier. Not everybody consciously enjoys touching, of course – many are unable to touch or are actively averse to touch, be it for self-preservation or through a fear of intimacy, a trauma, sensory disorder or asexuality. Humans are wired to be touched. From birth until the day we die, our need for physical contact remains. Being touch starved — also known as skin hunger or touch deprivation — occurs when a person experiences little to no touch from other living things. What is your relationship with platonic touch? Black & Poly alongside Chocolate City Poly invites you to our, "Touch & Vibe Session" We all know that feeling of comfort that washes over us when we enter the embrace of a loved one. Whether it's a hug from a friend you haven’t seen in a while or cuddling with that special someone, there’s a reason physical touch is one of the biggest ways we show affection. In recent years, a wave of studies has documented some incredible emotional and physical health benefits that come from touch. This research is suggesting that touch is truly fundamental to human communication, bonding, and health. Come learn the sacred art of touch in this safe space created just for you. 6:30pm: Doors Open 7:00pm: LOCK OUT 7:15pm Rules of Engagement 7:30pm: The Fun Begins "Exercise on Consent" 8:00pm: Touch, Cuddle & Vibe Session 10:00pm: Wrap Up Session Food will be provided, Healers & Therapist will also be on hand during this session. Limited Space | MUST RSVP by purchasing ticket in advance. What should I wear? Comfortable Pajamas, Onesies or Sweats. No skin revealing clothes such as sorts, lingerie or tanktops. Be cognitive not to apply any heavy smelling scents or perfumes. You’re welcome to bring a pillow, blanket, air mattress or teddy bear, too, if you like. This is a safe space for ALL. No Sexism, No Racism, No Ableism, No Ageism, No Homophobia, No Fatphobia, No Transphobia. Our intention is to provide a safe space for all to receive the healing benefits of touch. We honor people's ability to feel free & be themselves at our events. $40 www.themadisonhousedc.com/events/love-affection-the-sacred-art-of-touch-2
