What we're about
After receiving feedback that many Black women desire a safer space in which they can meet other like-minded Black women in a non-commercial and relaxed environment, I decided to found this group. With it, I hope to meet that need.
With this group Black asexual women, Black bisexual women, Black lesbian women, Black trans women, and Black intersex people can create an environment in which topics, such as survival strategies, daily life, empowerment and so much more can be discussed and exchanged. It is a place where we can confront our own experiences of homophobia, transphobia, sexism and racism as well as build new and lasting relationships, hang out, and enjoy each other's company.
The group constellation is a very conscious decision as the intersections of Black queer women and their consequences are very specific.
“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.” - Audre Lorde
